If a game isn't pay to play, I'm all for sequence breaking if it doesn't involve a glitch.
But if it's a glitch then it should be fixed.

this is just ... I don't know out of touch with the market? you can buy cheap or find an r9 inscribeable and put whatever bought cheap/found perfect mods you want on it now... this is how inscribeable weps+HM drops have changed the market completely and made greens pretty much obsolete and unwanted. I'd lol if these amulet farming dopes were able to sell anything and they'll probably give up in a day or two with little success selling

yeah, the endgame greens of all campaigns are pretty much mediocre, both in terms of skin and stats. They were overly common to begin with.
...on a side note, i think Tyria needs some end game greens after Hell's Precipe. Seems only fair since all the others have them!

What factors do you think they should base bans over this on?
IMO, they should ban the people charging for it and figure out how to wipe specific outposts from characters, and just do that. Too many people are doing this, and its way more tame then say the duping thing, so I don't think it justifies a perma-ban. The thing is, this would take a way more complex algorithm to trace than say searching for 150+ armbraces on a character.

It seems that this will not be fixed anytime soon. Gaile posted this in the Dev Tracker Forum:

It is now Christmas Eve, and I do not think that it would be reasonable to expect that anyone from the team will be able to address this for at least a few days, perhaps not until January 2nd. I am very sorry for the delay -- I know it's a frustrating bug. But the team has been working hard, and they deserve their Wintersday break. Too, many key team members are traveling to various places for the holidays, so those who might need to be involved in the bug fix may be in a different state... or even on a different continent!
Thank you in advance for your patience as the team resolves the issue. We will continue to review the thread in case other details are provided that help in detecting the cause of the glitch.

Now this was in regards to the glitch where the ambassador wouldn't show halls, but it seems Anet is on vacation until Jan 2.

I don't think this deserves a ban, maybe a day or 2 for the people charging, because it's really easy.......

By which time everyone should have all towns on all maps for all characters. I agree that this needs to be fixed, but judging from the fact that nothing was done about people making a fortune from the last exploit ( the ale farming in pre) - I dont see anyone getting their hands slapped.
Actually, if the problem is about people making gold out of this, then an alternative is to announce it everywhere so people who dont know wont be paying "runners". Just a thought

It's not that it's EASY. They're still abusing a glitch, and that's against the EULA. So (I hope not), they're probably going to ban everyone involved in it, even if its temporary.
I'd be all over this and have every outpost in all campaigns on all my characters, but I don't want to miss the Wintersday finale. Decisions, decisions...

the glitch was caused by human error by mis programming or checks or whatever
im sure people could have found this out accidently....actually i'm sure thats how it was found out and then friends slowly shard it around

Fix it? Sure. Ban? Why? I'm not saying it isn't an exploit, I'm not saying people who are using it aren't really cheating the game and themselves, but it's getting rather close to the end of GW's lifespan. Banning a bunch of people who just want to get to the content that they enjoy in a game at little expense to the playerbase as a whole isn't really going to be a wise move for Anet--those people will likely be very upset, and not purchase/support/give a shit about GW2.

people weren't banned from the HoS chest run, they called that an exploit.
They tried to fix it before, but couldn't.
People didn't get banned for ferrying to Docks, or Slavers either.

All glitches are caused by human error at some point.

But with this glitch people are making a lot larger profit than just by farming and doing a lot less work.

That is precisely what the team is doing. On a weekend that is also part of the holiday break.
Our objective is not to punish, but to repair. And I've heard from at least three GW team members who are working hard to do just that. If anyone ultimately gets punished -- either for using the exploit, from promoting or publicizing it, or for profiting from it -- that is truly secondary to closing the loophole as quickly as possible.
Dang, 6am3 Fana71c, that's a great image. I've not see it before. *lol*

I'd like to answer that: Because we thought it was fixed, and because it crept up (in a new form) during a holiday. However, as I mentioned, it's definitely being looked into now, on many levels and by many people.
Thanks to everyone for your patience as we resolve this. If you continue to have concerns, I will be happy to try to address them for you.

That's from a week ago. Gaile doesn't post in the dev tracker forum, the dev tracker forum indexes things Gaile posts (usually well after the fact).

GW2 is still a long ways away and if certain people are exploiting known bugs I'm already under the assumption they don't give a shit already. If there's bans coming, so be it. If not, so be it. I just want it fixed. If people want to get to areas so bad, play the game, or get the old fashion run.
Those who truly value their accounts do not engage in actions in which they know they're risking a possible ban/suspension. If, in the end, some players are suspended for a certain amount of time, well, maybe it'll be another lesson learned. Then again, maybe not.

There's been a reason to play Guild Wars in the past..oh 10 months? LOL. Yeah right man.
